I want you to keep a really close eye on Venus and Saturn in particular over the next month, because they will be getting steadily closer and closer to each other as December blurs into January, until they reach their closest approach on the 18th january, known as a conjunction, when they’ll be 2 degrees apart from each other, that’s about 4 full moon widths, or a few thumbs wide held at arms length away from you. If you have multiple clear nights over the next few days this is a really nice thing to spot night after night and notice how much they’ve moved. There’s no significance to this, it’s just a pretty thing to notice in the sky, especially if you Break out some binoculars when they’re at their closest approach.
