I’ve seen a lot of you struggling with the Amazon KDP dashboard and wondering where the hell you could find A+ content or price promotion. Well, stop here ‘cause I’m gonna show everything to you right now in this video.

When login into your KDP dashboard, you can see a marketing tab at the top right of your screen. Click on it to discover all the tools and resources Amazon is giving you to promote your book.

At the very top of the page is the KDP Select enrollment box. You can enrol any ebook you may have here, under the condition that it’s not available anywhere else but Amazon. This enrollment isn’t forever though, and it will renew automatically every 90 days unless you tick off the box to tell Amazon you don’t want to be in the program anymore. Be mindful that you’ll only have access to the price promotion tools if you’re enrolled with KDP Select.

Next up is the box leading you to the Amazon Ads dashboard. You’ve got to choose your marketplace first, as it’s not one dashboard for all marketplaces but one for each. I know, it’s a bit annoying when you’re managing multiple ads on multiple marketplaces, but it’s how it is for now. Right next to the Amazon Ads box is the Author Central one. If you haven’t done it already, create your author profile on Amazon Author Central and claim all your books there. It will create your author page on Amazon and list all the books you’ve written. You can also manage the editorial reviews of each one of your books, check out their rankings, etc.

Below is the A+ Content box. With A+ Content, you can add images, texts and other things onto your book page. You’ve got a few links that explain to you what A+ Content is and how you can implement it. And, as for everything Amazon does, you’ve got to choose your marketplace and replicate if you want to add A+ Content on as many marketplaces as you’d like. It also helps with localisation, because you’ll obviously not post German or French texts on your US or UK book pages. Right?

Next up is the Run a Price Promotion box. Remember when I told you about KDP Select? You need to be enrolled in the program to be able to run a price promotion. There are two types: Kindle Countdown Deals and Free Book Promotion. The first one allows you to discount your ebook in a set period of time. As for the second one, I think the title speaks for itself: you’re setting your ebook for free in a set period of time. Usually you can use those promotions for five days maximum within your KDP Select enrollment period. And be mindful you can only use one or the other during the enrollment period.

At the bottom of your marketing page, you’ve got a Nominate Your Ebook box. It’s still in beta but Amazon allows you to nominate one or two ebooks for their Kindle Deals and Prime Reading promotions. And Amazon states that nomination doesn’t mean enrollment. So it’s not because you’ve nominated your ebook that Amazon will actually promote it. However, there are some conditions to these nominations…

Kindle Deals are limited-time discount deals offered on eBooks, lasting from one day up to multiple weeks. Your ebook can be nominated for Kindle Deals if it has been available for at least 90 days, has not been on deal in the last 90 days, and is priced between 2.99 and 9.99. And apparently, if I read the info correctly, it only works on the US marketplace at this stage.

As for the Prime Reading Promotions, your ebook must be enrolled in KDP Select in order to be nominated. Amazon might then feature it to Prime members.

After that, no more boxes but a couple of links to inform you on ebook preorders, ebook gifting and Kindle instant book previews.
