Most players never actually meet the real Hermit in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
If you travel to his secluded home in Apollonia very early in the game, you can find the real Ambrose alive but gravely ill, and even pray with him.
Later, during The Hermit quest, the man living there is actually Konrad, Ambrose's old friend who assumed his identity after Ambrose died while trying to fulfil his final wishes.
It's such a tiny hidden encounter, but it completely changes how you look at the quest once you know the truth.
