KCAL News is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month by highlighting individuals and organizations making an impact or difference in Southern California. According to the US Census Bureau, Los Angeles County has the largest Hispanic and Latino population in any US county, more than 4.6 million people! More than 3 million of that population are Mexican. LA County is also home to the largest Central American population in the US, including the largest Guatemalan, Costa Rican, and Salvadoran populations.
