In racing, I personally believe that you make your own luck by working diligently and precisely while following a finely honed/time-tested structure. All mechanical items can/will fail over time, but due diligence can prevent accelerated failure due to human error. Of course, the enemy of this philosophy is always time. Frankly, we ran out of time and tried to force things to happen prematurely towards the end of this project, and the results were almost catastrophic.
“We learn from failure more than success”. Samuel Smiles, a Scottish author, said: “We learn wisdom from failure much more than from success. We often discover what will do, by finding out what will not do; and probably he who never made a mistake never made a discovery.”
