KATSEYE talking about the new WILD album, Sophia and Manon hiatus, and Eyekons, live in NYC
While promoting their new album WILD in New York City, Lara, Daniela, Yoonchae, and Megan talked about Sophia and Manon taking a break from the group, the new EP WILD, and their fans EYEKONS.
New album WILD just dropped! It features pre-release singles like "Pinky Up" and "Animal," plus brand-new tracks including "Hootie Frutti," "Bel Air," and "That Way". You can pre-order physical and digital editions directly from the the Katseye Official Store.
This free outdoor morning concert on the TODAY Plaza was pure energy as the HYBE x Geffen Records group took the stage. KATSEYE formed through the 2023 reality competition The Debut: Dream Academy (later documented in the Netflix series Pop Star Academy: Katseye). The multinational lineup brings together members from the Philippines, South Korea, Switzerland, and the United States, creating a global pop sound rooted in K-pop-style training but performed mainly in English.
Their breakout hits include the viral “Touch,” debut single “Debut,” “Gnarly,” the Latin-tinged “Gabriela,” “Internet Girl,” “Pinky Up,” and the Ed Sheeran-assisted “Animal.” After the SIS (Soft Is Strong) EP in 2024 and Beautiful Chaos (which hit No. 4 on the Billboard 200) in 2025, the group is ushering in a new era with their third EP WILD, releasing the same day as this Rockefeller Center performance.
Eyekons, this one was special—high-energy choreography, strong vocals, and that signature KATSEYE stage presence right in the heart of NYC.

Take a relaxing silent walking tour along Broadway in New York City—one of the world’s most famous streets. This video captures the energy of the Theater District, iconic landmarks, glowing marquees, and the vibrant atmosphere of Midtown Manhattan. No commentary, just the sights and sounds of the street itself.
About Broadway Street
Broadway stretches roughly 13–15 miles through Manhattan (and continues farther north), running from Battery Place near Bowling Green in Lower Manhattan all the way through the borough and beyond. It began as the Wickquasgeck Trail, an ancient Native American (Lenape) trading path that followed high ground. The Dutch later called it the Brede Wegh (“Broad Way”) or Heeren Straat (“Gentlemen’s Street”). When the British took control in 1664, they kept and anglicized the name Broadway because of its unusual width for the time.
Unlike most of Manhattan’s orderly grid (laid out in the 1811 Commissioners’ Plan), Broadway predates the grid and cuts diagonally across the island. This creates distinctive triangular plazas and intersections, including Union Square, Madison Square, Herald Square, Times Square, and Columbus Circle. In the late 19th century it became one of the first streets brightly lit with electric lights, earning the nickname “The Great White Way.”
The Theater District
The heart of Broadway theater is the Theater District in Midtown, centered around Times Square and stretching mainly from about 41st to 54th Streets between Sixth and Eighth Avenues (with a few venues a bit farther afield). There are 41 official Broadway theaters—professional houses with 500+ seats. Surprisingly, only a handful actually sit on the street named Broadway itself (including the Broadway Theatre, Palace Theatre, and Winter Garden Theatre). Most line the nearby numbered side streets.
Famous historic and working theaters you may pass include the Gershwin, Richard Rodgers, Minskoff, Majestic, Shubert, Winter Garden, New Amsterdam, and many others built largely in the early 20th century. The area has been the center of American commercial theater for well over a century, after earlier stages concentrated farther downtown.

A bit more history
Broadway has long been a “Path of Progress” for New York—home to early mansions, the first department stores, ticker-tape parades downtown in the Canyon of Heroes, and the rise of American popular entertainment. Theaters gradually migrated uptown as the city grew, settling in the Times Square area by the early 1900s and transforming it into the dazzling entertainment hub it remains today.
Whether you’re strolling past the bright lights of Times Square, spotting historic theater marquees, or simply soaking in the street that refuses to follow the grid, Broadway is pure New York energy.
