On Sunday October 23 2016, Katie had a flight lesson at the Livermore Airport (KLVK) She and her instructor did about eight to ten touch and go landings and takeoffs. For the most part on this day her instructor didn't touch the controls and gave her very little verbal prompting during the landings and takeoffs. After we watched all of the videos in the evening, I noted that there really wasn't a bad landing in the whole bunch, some had a bit of a bounce, but in all cases it appeared that the airplane was always very well under control. This video is of her last landing for the day, and is 100% all Katie flying the airplane, her instructor never said a word or touched the controls the whole approach!!! At about the 1m:30s mark in the video you can her the tower controller tell Katie that her landing was "...beautiful..." which it totally was - sheer poetry!! Yay, baby, yay!! So proud of you! According to her instructor, Katie will be Soloing any day now. And by November 3rd, for sure, he said!! Go, baby, go!!
