The Bharatiya Janata Party launched a ten-day padayatra from Lingasur Taluk in Raichur District towards Ballari against the Karnataka Congress government over allegations of corruption. BJP leaders, including state president B.Y. Vijayendra, Basavaraj Bommai, Arvind Bellad, Sri Ramlu, Chalvadi Narayanaswamy, R. Ashok, and Janardhan Reddy, participated in the march. The leaders demanded the recovery and return of one hundred and eighty-seven crore rupees allegedly looted from Dalit development funds in the Valmiki scam, stating the money should be restored to Dalit welfare programmes. They also demanded the reinstatement of reservations and stated that the protest would continue until justice is secured, dismissing counter-protests planned by the Congress government.
