In this episode, recorded during the Covid-19 pandemic lock downs, Alexandra speaks to co-founder of Sacred Acoustics and co-author of Living in a Mindful Universe, Karen Newell.
Karen has a fascination for consciousness and what lies beyond our physical existence. She has spent many years on a path of exploration where she has delved into multiple spiritual and healing subjects, such as meditation, sound healing, binaural beats and brainwave entrainment.
Karen says: 'Sound was one of the tools that helped me with quieting the mind.'
Karen went on to help develop Sacred Acoustics – a collection of audio tracks which use binaural beats and other specially designed soothing rhythmic sound tones and sound effects in each ear to generate a third "binaural beat" inside the mind, that can entrain one’s brainwaves to facilitate a deeply relaxed, meditative state.
Karen speaks of multiple examples of physical changes and evidence of healing that has been experienced by people working with sacred acoustics over the years. She speaks about the various brainwaves and the role of relaxation in healing and transformation.
