In the handle material showdown episode #2 I will be going over the characteristics of Karelian birch from Russia. This handle material was a joy to work with! It was stabilized with a heavy resin that completely filled the pores. It is a dense wood that is fairly heavy after stabilization. I sanded the curly birch up in grits to 1000 grit and buffed it lightly to achieve a wonderful luster! I would recommend this variety for sure! I rate it 8 out of 10 on my scale of goodness!
