From the award-winning journalist, host of “On with Kara Swisher,” and cohost of “Pivot” comes Burn Book: A Tech Love Story, a history and an accounting of the tech industry and its most powerful players who wanted to change the world but broke it instead.

Kara Swisher got her start at The Washington Post, where she was one of the few in journalism interested in the emerging field of tech. Among the
first to recognize the potential of the internet, she accurately predicted that “everything that could be digitized, would be digitized.”

While tech titans bragged that they would “move fast and break things,” Swisher was moving faster and breaking news. Covering the explosion of the digital sector in the early 1990s, she earned a track-record for digging up the truth of this new world order. Swisher has interviewed the likes of Steve Jobs, Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk, Meg Whitman, and Mark Zuckerberg.

Despite the damage she chronicles, Swisher remains optimistic about tech’s potential to help solve problems and not just create them. She calls upon the industry to make better choices, as new AI tools are poised to change the world yet again. Part memoir, part history, Burn Book is a love story to, for, and about tech from someone who knows it better than anyone.

Swisher is in conversation with Laurene Powell Jobs, Founder & President of Emerson Collective, an organization designed to develop opportunities and solutions in education, environment, immigration, and health equity through philanthropy, creativity, and investments.
