Shane and Megan met when at the end of Megan's senior year of high school. They ended up at the same college for under grad, did long distance while Shane played baseball at Louisville, and even lived with a couple of their best friends after college.
One thing that Megan wrote in her letter to Shane on their wedding day was "18 year old us to 80 year old us. I can't imaged life without you'"
