Raw footage from a music video shoot for the Chic song "Hangin'" where I cast Kano as the hip-hop leading man for a story thread it ran through the video. As a one time messenger I thought it be fun for him to get an assignment and then no one giving him the "time of day" to help get the envelope delivered. This was made in 1982 and Kano being a good looking guy was kind of a stytlin'' model of the early hip-hop days. Only later did I come to appreciate his range of artistic work. He passed away in January of 2025 so I was motivated to post this his memory. Unfortunately, the role of the raw film transfer did not include footage of Kano's friend On2 aka On-Ski dancing in the courtyard of Junior High School 22 on E. Houston St. with a graffiti mural background which was used in the finished video.
