Travel from Kampot to Koh Rong by Train and Ferry a Cambodia Adventure
Join me as I travel by train and boat from the peaceful Kampot countryside to the stunning coastline of Koh Rong in Cambodia. This journey combines a scenic train ride from Kampot to Sihanoukville with a ferry trip to Koh Rong, offering a unique perspective on Cambodia’s beauty.
I booked my train ticket the day before, as it was a public holiday. While the train was delayed by 30 minutes, I learned this is quite normal! The ride was comfortable, taking about 2 hours. Although my ticket had a seat number, passengers didn’t stick to their assigned seats.
Upon arriving in Sihanoukville, I hopped on a tuk-tuk for 5,000 riel to the tourist port. The port had clean toilets, 24-hour ATMs, food vendors, and even a 7-Eleven. It was easy to book a ferry ticket there.
The ferry ride to Koh Rong was slightly bumpy but manageable. Once on the island, I settled into my rustic accommodation, which I’ll share more about in my next video.
