Sons often spend their lives chasing their father’s approval, and for Kalibak, the son of Darkseid, that chase was endless. In the comics he was a brutal, destructive powerhouse. But in the DC Animated Universe, Kalibak became something more pathetic: a child trapped in a monster’s body, doomed never to hear the words “Good job” from his father.
