Nurses at Kaiser Permanente locations across California held a picket to raise concerns about artificial intelligence in the workplace and staffing conditions as they begin early negotiations on a new union contract. Healthcare workers argue that new technology that could affect nurses and patients should be tested and regulated. Kaiser Permanente said its technology supports nurses in providing patient care and does not interfere with their clinical judgment or replace them in delivering care. The company also said those principles are included in its contract with the nurses’ association.
