“Imp Poster” happened completely on accident. I was worried the xpand!2 slap bass sample I used on “Bouncy” was a little too boring, so I was trying to layer it with other sounds.

In the process, I discovered the 303 imposter bass, which already sounds sick on it’s own, but I decided to throw a bunch of distortion on it. I improvised a little part out (mind you, still in the “Bouncy” session lol), and realized this needed to be its own thing.

Pretty effortlessly, I simplified the bass part a little, wrote some drums, and made a melody and there ya go, done!... not really lol. There’s some crazy weird key change stuff that I accidentally did when improvising those piano parts, which led to intro reprise section fitting better a semitone down lol.

I remedied this by just gradually shifting everything up 1 semitone up throughout the section (from 1:47 to 2:11).
