I spotted this young Blue Tit at the feeder and thought it was a perfect chance to show how different juveniles look compared to adults! Juvenile Blue Tits have a noticeably duller and more muted appearance compared to adults. The fledglings have greenish upperparts, paler yellow underparts, and yellow cheeks instead of the white cheeks seen in adults. Their overall plumage lacks the vibrant contrast of the adult's bright blues and yellows, with features like the blue crown appearing less distinct or more greyish-green. By early autumn, juveniles undergo a moult that brings their plumage closer to the adult coloration.
