There's been a lot of noise about ContentID claims on YouTube recently. I thought I'd outline my experiences with my decidedly less popular YouTube channel. If you upload videos to YouTube, sooner or later this will happen to you.

Personally I just see it as part of the 'cost' of getting YouTube to host my videos. It's quite frustrating and it takes time to deal with, so I don't much enjoy it. As small fry, I enjoy no protections whatsoever. My network (whom I'm leaving), are supposed to deal with this, but they're not proactive and they're slow, still requiring me to do as much work as if I did it myself. So now I just do it myself.

Today's background music comes from YouTube's own free audio library and is Canon in D Major by Pachelbel, performed by the ubiquitous Kevin MacLeod. I wonder if I'll get a claim on this.
