Disney’s AI-powered Olaf animatronic made its public debut at Disneyland Paris on March 29 — and by the very next day, it was already going viral for all the wrong reasons. The walking, talking snowman — built by Disney Imagineering with Nvidia AI technology and just two weeks earlier shown off onstage at Nvidia’s GTC conference — froze mid-performance, slowly tipped backward, and hit the ground with his carrot nose flying off on impact. Disney staff rushed in to reattach the nose and wheel Olaf away.
