With the Jurassic Park Classic Games Collection out now on digital. I decided to do something a bit special with one of my favorite (and first) Jurassic Park game. So if you have never played the game (or you have played the game) you will notice that the game has a lot of slow down in certain parts, like a lot of it. So I looked into overclocking the Genesis CPU to see if it actually will run the game better. Turns out it does! So for everyone watching, this might be the way the game is supposed to run if it never had any slow down at all, it can be very off though since I did overclock it a ton (400% in MAME, this is over kill IMHO but I decided to go with it since it seemed to be running fine)
In terms of gameplay it was jarring to play this game like this, in parts I expected slow down I saw none, so I actually mistimed certain areas, mostly ladders. At the end of the day, overclocked or not this game is still fantastic in my opinion. If you would like to see a Raptor playthrough do let me know. I hope you enjoy the video.
