🔋 Biology runs on thermodynamics. The psyche is in relationship with biology. So the psyche MUST be an energic system. Almost no one in psychology is taking that seriously. This is Jung's 1928 paper On Psychic Energy, reconstructed from the ground up: what he got right, what he got catastrophically wrong (yes, he dismissed e=mc² as irrelevant), and what falls out when you actually do the physics properly. The first law of thermodynamics applied to the psyche gives you compensation as a pressure differential. Energy that can't vanish, only move. Anxiety as blocked libido pushing against a wall. Depression as energy withdrawal into the unconscious. Dreams as the pressure finding a crack. Jung, Freud, Adler, Flournoy, and Maeder all accounted for under a single energic principle: discovered independently, three times, in 1907. All of it built from 46 hours of line-by-line reconstruction in Season 2 of The Jung Project

🍺 The Jung Project (Members-Only):
The only line-by-line walkthrough of Jung's Collected Works in existence. Every footnote hunted down. Brought up to date with the natural sciences. Built like a graduate course, delivered like a pub. Private Discord where I'm actually in the room. £20/month, new episode every Friday. Nothing else like it exists:

🔬 Who am I?
James P. Dowling. British molecular biologist turned depth psychologist and independent Jungian scholar. MSc Cell Biology. Clinical Fellow in Neuropsychoanalysis. UK Chair & CTO of IAPC. I run The Jung Project — a line-by-line reconstruction of Jung's Collected Works that doesn't exist anywhere else — and produce original theoretical work at the intersection of Jung, thermodynamics, and modern biology.
