One of the trickiest parts of visiting the Lacandon jungle and its ruins is finding a place to stay. Understandably the offerings are pretty slim, and can be quite primitive. During our visit to the Lacandon we chose to stay at a place called Tres Lagunas, which means three lagoons. Tres Lagunas is a crocodile sanctuary and eco park built around three small lagoons. Its glamping at its best, with small cabins that look like jungle huts. There is WIFI, but it's pretty spotty, honestly though, who cares when your in the jungle! The "Nature-fi" is what's strong here. Tres Lagunas offers excursions into the jungle to view wildlife, fish, and learn about the Lacandon and its people. This place is incredible, and a great way to experience the beauty and diversity of the jungle.
