After playing a part in Max Jagerman’s accidental death, the gang is haunted by him. Richie and Ruth are killed, Grace steals a policewoman’s gun when they suspect her, the three remaining use the Black book to summon the lords in black, who make Steph kill Peter in exchange for dealing with Max. Max catches the bullet before it can hit Peter.
