Ermm actually that was the second attempt... I forgot in the moment.
The day has come, I have finally beaten Taken's 4:17.754 speedrun from 3 years ago. I initially thought I never would as at the time I wasn't skilled enough and I started drifting away exploring the new and exciting custom maps. But I felt it was about time I did this as I knew I had gotten better and better and custom map releases had been slow.
For the longest time Fast Chapel Entry was a mental roadblock because I never knew of a consistent setup for it (I tried creating my own, but that didn't stick). Luckily there is one now (I'm not sure when it was discovered), but with it you really only have to get the timing at the very start and very end correct and so it's not too bad.
I will come back eventually, just had to get this run in before the influx of custom maps on the way. Also, I don't think I'm running Babe of Transcension, I'm simply just not motivated for that length and difficulty of a speedrun.
2 very sad chapel fails at the end.

Greatest first run of the day ever.
I had delayed playing this for a couple of days because I was almost dreading the grind for it. However, I lucked out and got this. I knew my last run had enough mistakes that I could still mess up a bit during this run and still beat it, but I had no idea if I was on pace or not until I got towards the end of second to last area.
Dont really wanna play this unless someone beats it, this couldve taken days, maybe even a week. Very surprised and very happy (:

This took quite a few hour-long(ish) sessions to get. In the first two clips, I am actually ahead of this pace (around 0.5 and 0.2 respectively), but that doesnt matter because Ive got what I wanted. I also, got a 2:18.2 the other day while trying to get this.
The reason why I dont use the snake ring more is because personally it usually isnt worth it and is tedious. I dont know if this is going to get broken pretty soon, but it definitely could. I reckon the limit of this map is like a low 2:14 or even high 2:13 but that is far away.

Back with a banger. Ideally, I wouldve liked something closer to a low 7:1X, but my goal was to beat tetoloids 7:29. This is my first run on the nerfed version and while many small things (that were changed) do help to make the run more consistent, the falls still feel slightly off. At least the map is short enough for me to feel motivated enough to keep on going and trying again and again.
Definitely want to improve this run in the future, but not for now, as I need to get back to grinding Babe of Ascension.
I plugged in my microphone at the end to try and get my reaction, but no.

I lost 15 seconds at 6:59 in the second-last area and almost 30 seconds in area 4, so in the next day or two, Ill be back with a banger (hopefully). There are two small skips in area 1 that Ill probably also end up doing to save about 5 seconds.
