The Prophet ﷺ said, “The best day on which the sun has risen is Friday; on it Adam was created. On it he was made to enter Paradise, on it he was expelled from it. And the last hour will take place on no day other than Friday (Sahih Muslim).”
Friday is a day of collective prayer and remembrance of our Creator. It is also the day the Hour will come, our souls will receive ultimate justice, and time as we know it will cease. It is a day that hangs in the balance, its meanings hidden behind the distractions and veils of our day-to-day lives.
The arrival of Friday, or any day, is not promised to us, and it is with great shukr that we continue to experience life. This jummah, let yourself reflect on the days ahead and how you can make your jummah an investment into your Akhira: through sadaqah, following the sunnan of jummah, or relieving a burden from a fellow believer.
