JUMBO JOY - PART 2: Our baby elephant arrived in the early hours of Sunday morning, Feb. 26, at 2:27 a.m. Both mom and the little one are doing well. WATCH to see the baby's first moments and get a glimpse of what he's been up to for the last 10 days.

For the first time here at Dallas Zoo, we had a herd birth - one of our other females, Zola, was in the same space as Mlilo through the birth and after, just as would occur in the wild. They are both taking such good care of the little one, and he'll soon start to meet other members of the herd.
Mom and baby will stay behind the scenes still for several weeks, so stay tuned to social media for the latest photos and videos. And keep an eye out next week when we plan to announce his name!
