I'm up way too late finishing this one.. I have to work in the morning. But I'm still going to try my best to describe last weekend.
We drove a couple of hours away to the city of Waco, Texas.
It's a smaller town between Dallas and Austin, so a few of our friends from Dallas met us there.
Mick Casals lives there as well.
Mick's about the only reason I'd visit there.
Maybe if it's a neat place if you're interested in the history behind the David Koresh "Branch Davidians" cult... Or if you want to see some Wooly Mammoth Fossils..
But my only real reason for going is to visit Mick.
On the way, as is tradition in Texas, we stopped at Buc-ee's.
If you're not familiar with Buc-ee's, it's a gas station.
Now, that may not sound all that great, but it's an event.
It's absolute delicious chaos.
The pinnacle of the idea of "everything is bigger in Texas."
There's an entire row of just fresh beef jerky.
There's enough BBQ to feed an entire city.
There's every kind of southern style desert you can imagine.
Every employee has been programmed to meet you with authentic southern hospitality.
You can even find a gift for grandma while you're there.
Truly, just one of a kind.
Hours later, we made it to Waco.
I've always heard the spots in Waco were good.
If they are, we for sure didn't skate any of them.
Just scary rails and poorly built makeshift spots.
It's 4am and I accidentally just wasted a lot of my brain power writing about the journey there... I can't summarize the events here in the description but... Give it a watch. It was a fun one.
