On the third day of my 1995 summer vacation I started my day visiting Iowa's Bridges of Madison County. In Winterset, Iowa I stopped at John Wayne's birthplace. I then drove across northern Iowa while listening to local radio. I ended the day in Mankato, Minnesota.
