Fun With H5 Domino Creations FlippyCat 2021-12-24 | A fun collection of some NEW and some old clips using H5 Domino Creations sets and their accessories.This screenlink is split into 3 sections. Starting with the first H5DC introduction sets (blue,white,yellow,red), then moving to the neon colour sets (blue, orange, pink, green), and then finally a combination of both set colours.The scenes for the individual sets were made for @Hevesh5's collab videos for each set, which you may have already seen. I did a lot of experiments with splitting towers, so there are several versions in this video. I first seen the beginnings of the sliding pyramid technique in a video by tsd_flips (with only a couple layers) and was reminded of it when AlyenMino shared their own single layer version in the domino & machine community discord. It also works as a wall! For my scenes in the Phenomenal Domino Screenlink I represented a different shape in each setup. Triangles, square, circle and a star. For the shooting star I wanted to use Bulk Dominoes BD 5000 launcher accessories to throw streamers across the room somehow, but I couldn't come up with an idea I liked. After I decided I would have a shapes theme to work with, I seen a shooting star shape and thought using the ribbons as the tail of a shooting start would be a great visual effect. At the time I had also been making some screenlink clips with the new H5 Domino Creations Neon set from Hevesh5 (#h5dominocommunity), and wanted to incorporate the cool colour combo into this setup. This is probably my favourite of my scenes.For the 'circle' scene, I used a new technique by BlockParty! called the Spinal Tower (see youtube.com/watch?v=PrkTIPKj1b0). With a spinal tower, the towers tip over, but hold together more than a regular tower structure would, sending more dominoes further away from the tower's base. I thought this would be a good way to fill in the center of an empty circle, and think it worked well? Some block heads familiar with this domino trick might notice I modified the Spinal Tower in my setup so I could trigger the towers from the inside instead of the original.In the 'triangles' scene I wanted to make use of the mini transparent dominoes paired with a matching or close solid colour. This was heavily inspired by a cool rainbow domino colour combination I had seen DakSen The Fox use with regular sized transparent dominoes (see: youtu.be/_XLjst5VJl4?t=34). I got lucky and was able to make a very clean edit on the continuing line where the purple 2d domino pyramid broke through.The 'square' crossover field started out as an experiment with the line crossover trick. The initial concept was to decrease the dominoes between each intersection over multiple scenes. Each scene would get more dense with fewer dominoes between each crossover. The giant 2x2 spaced field I started with looked pretty amazing on it's own, so only this scene was included to represent a square. Getting this technique to work reliably in a dense grid with only 2 dominoes between each crossover in both directions was a challenge and involved hours of trial and error effort. You might spot a small edit here, but the fall was a success.To wrap things up, 'THE END' clip was designed to match the 'START' scene, using the same line colour, and pattern as the first scene Klein24 created. I was thinking of having a complete circle that wrapped around instead, but didn't want that part to be revealed right away, so I came up with this. This was shot in 3 segments. The count down was setup and knocked down before the rest was setup, and the final 21 was present from the start, but was toppled separately so I could change camera angles and use fewer cameras. One of the confetti/fireworks launchers appears like it didn't trigger, but it did. The dominoes inside the launcher jammed. This was a last minute project built entirely on New Years eve, so the design/layout was rushed and feels a bit sloppy to me. FAILS: The 19 looks like it's edited, but it did fall that way, however the 15 came to complete stop :(

H5's used to make a starting steps.The keys were made with yellow/orange, and the colours desaturated to look silver/grey to resemble real keys instead.There were two sections that didn't fall properly in the keys sections. Amazing Domino Effects (Screenlink) FlippyCat 2019-04-04 | Which scene did you like most? It started as 'mixed domino sizes' theme but soon I was experimenting with techniques and creating some random new structures with regular dominoes instead.This screen link starts out with a micro domino fallwall followed by the collapsing bridge technique, towering speed stairs, and more speed stairs, a spiraling ramp made of dominoes that goes up and around then down again. Then a triple spiral setup with 3 sizes of dominoes, some domino domolishers (with kinetic dominoes). Next is a quick comparison of speed wall vs hexaspeedwalls, then some 'wave' dominoes to connect the scenes, and a split field (aka Bermuda triangles), then a more elaborate demolisher setup. Building a Hexaspeedwall 2D Pyramid FlippyCat 2019-03-14 | While putting together a new screenlink video and exploring a technique bpdoles ( youtube.com/user/bpdoles ) named "Collapsing Bridges" I wanted to try stacking rows of bridges similar to a speedwall. The domino structure I ended up with resembled hexagons/honeycomb.In this video I show the method I've used to setup a hexaspeedwall 2d pyramid. A temporary support mechanism is needed in order to complete each bridge section. In my method I top each level in place, instead of building on a template/fork. To achieve this, I've used 2 mini bulk dominoes to act as temporary supports. Domino Pivot Track Fun 2: Sonimod FlippyCat 2019-02-07 | I recently came across a video by domino artist Taikamuna that used only a few pivot tracks with the 'sonimod' technique.I wondered what a larger setup of this would look and *sound* like, so I went through all my boxes trying to find as many of these old Domino Rally pivot tracks to setup a much longer chain reaction using them.I got the idea for the second pivot track arrangement from Hevesh5's 'soniverse' technique.I'm interested to know who has already used either of these techniques previously, if you've already used either of these or recall a video that used them please let me know.Notes: The first setup worked 100% twice. The edit does not cover up breaks, but combines different angles I took from each setup.The triangle I setup once.The third scene had a faulty start, and faulty lines during the first attempt. 4400 Dominoes FlippyCat 2019-01-17 | This has been a very experimental project.It's been a very long time since I've held a camera and tried to follow a domino chain reaction path while it's falling. To get some practice, I wanted to fill half my domino room with a simple path and have some basic structures including square/triangle/circle shapes to have some sort of themed elements still.I also wanted to try not having any music, at all. Do you feel this needed some music?There was unfortunately one break during the fall. Then I couldn't decide if I should include both setups in a video or not. The second build camera angle was not great, and my hands blocked the placing the most of the dominoes.The short clip at the very end was my attempt to have better spacing (I got to 5 layers), it was really difficult to repair accidents with no wiggle room so I stopped.#flippycat #domino

The scene is threading a needle, under a magnifying glass.The idea was to magnify and increase each of the smaller sizes by one within the magnified area.I used 1556 total micro mini dominoes in this design. 🔥 3 Matchstick Chain Reactions with REAL Dominos FlippyCat 2017-05-04 | This is my take on Matchstick Chain Reactions YouTube keeps suggesting I watch...Which chain reaction scene was most amazing? Did it need fire?PROJECT NOTES:The first scene contains 2500+ dominoes, made up of 491 domino match sticks in the shape of YouTube's Trending icon. Instead of lighting them on fire, they get knocked down. I was able to edit the matches that did not fall to look like the did, but felt the incomplete fall looked good too so kept this edit real.The second scene represents the fire chain reaction between close matches. A fallwall viewed from above covered with black mini dominoes creates a rising flame effect, and the domino color changing effect creates the burning sticks.The third scene contains 2466 mini dominoes, made up of 18 matchsticks with 137 mini dominoes each. There are 20 columns by 29 rows of pins/towers (580 total). Each wall has has 4,000 dominoes.Detail/Resolution and Sound (YouTube players)You can create a more detailed image field in the same area with mini dominoes, and they are also quieter than regular dominoesThis is illustrated with two YouTube players with resolutions of 25p (25 pixels) using 1,125 dominoes, and 50p using 4,450 dominoes.Weight (Balance Scale)Bigger dominos weigh more than smaller dominoes, so what better way to show this than using a giant scale?Speed (Race)Mini dominoes take a little longer to travel the same distanceThe race is played back at 65% speed to slow things downThere are 102 regular vs 195 minisResistance (Fan)Mini dominoes don't stand up to gusts of air as well.
