Hey everyone, I'm finally back with my first solo edit after a year.
This is also my AMV/Video category entry for this year's Hoyoverse @HonkaiStarRail Multiverse Vistas contest
I'll be honest, much of my time trying to put this together was a big struggle. I was flip-flopping between a few ideas for a while but nothing was really clicking with me and at this point I only had a month left to make something.
I was leaning towards this song here and there because I really like the atmosphere of it (and really into EDM for the past few years now) but didn’t know how to make it about Star Rail. Eventually I was told to just try it out and see how I felt after a few days. This is now that video.
Looking back on this now that its done, I'm glad this became what I stuck with in the end. Even though it is more of a general edit and nothing too specific, I wanted to get the vibes right and loosely tie together the worlds in this game's story while incorporating intense moments. I wish I had struck on something sooner and done some things better, but there's always time in the future for me to do another edit if I want to.
Thank you to everyone who beta tested, hung out in the editing VCs, helped me with some clips/sent me high quality footage, and consistently encouraged me to finish the video because man i was so close to giving up several times lmao.

This is my video for Crows IC: Expedition. Ive actively avoided the psyche genre for ICs for nearly 10 years now because my first attempt on an old AMV of mine called Disintegration wasnt fun for me at all. Thankfully, it turned out to be different this time around. I also didnt think I would be able to end up finishing a solo IC entry in this day and age but surprise fellas, unc still got it.

Now as for my video itself, this was loosely based on a nightmare I had a really long time ago which scared the shit out of me. The feeling of dread, being alone and trying to reach out to something or someone familiar to you to give you shelter only to be chased by demons within the shadows. Other than that, the video is just me going off of vibes and trying to evoke that feeling.
I definitely should not have saved the sound design for last but thats on me lmao.
