I finally made a new dance-themed edit. I never thought I'd see the day.
Ever since I heard "RATATA" off of Skrillex's album Quest For Fire,
the amount of energy and confidence this song boasted instantly convinced me this was gonna be a standout. I knew right away "I have to make something with this"
Ironically, this became one of the hardest songs for me to edit with. It took me several amounts of trial and error to find a flow and scene selection that worked for me.
This is also why this video took so damn long to get done.
I started this edit back in 2023 but stopped working on it shortly after because I didn't know what I wanted out of the video at first....yea thats a really long time not gonna lie. And then there was me doing other edits, not feeling this one when i tried to force myself, etc.
The toughest part and one of the most time consuming about this was constantly retiming frames in a lot of clips to try and make sequences/body movements look like they were fluid. I took inspiration from dance choreography videos to help me figure this out.
Once it was slowly coming together I had fun seeing how I could continue carrying the energy of the song through the different animations.
I'm so glad I decided to finish this. Making a new solo upbeat video again was on my mind for years. It was a long time coming and now I can finally share it online.
Thank you to EVERYONE who encouraged me to finish, sending me clips, giving me feedback, etc. Without you all this wouldn't have been possible.
