Almost forgot about this one... another Kate interview from last week to promote her newest season and Australia adventures.
And the word of the day is unagreed.
Interesting discussion on why 2 of the kids were pulled out of school. Sounds like they were acting out, but Kate seems to attribute it solely to a medical issue she wont discuss. Kudos to Kate for at least keeping that private. It definitely piques my curiosity as to what medical condition pulls kids out of kindergarten - 2 out of 6 kids no less. No kudos to Kate for blaming the medical condition and not owning up to other factors.
Joy doesn't seem to buy Kate's explanation that TV has no impact on their behavior, instead she blames the divorce. I find that astonishing that Kate truly believes that with or without the cameras her kids would be acting out. My assertion is that the divorce plays a role, along with being HOMs, traveling often, being on TV, having paparazzi follow them, having Kate for a mother, having Jon for a father, dressing alike, being in a family with 8 kids, having nannies etc... I think a combination of their lives causes them to be who they are and it's silly for Kate to solely blame the divorce.
Kate asserts that if the kids don't want to film they don't. That may be true for the most part, but there are many situations where the kids don't get the luxury of getting to choose. What, do they say "no mommy I don't want to go to Australia?" When it's time for back to school shopping or filming the birthday party do they just opt to stay home or not be filmed while they're strapped in their car seats? They don't always have the freedom to be somewhere else, but generally at home I think they do.
I wonder if she's sick of being asked about her dating life. They've been asking about it since the divorce, and I'm sick of hearing about it. Haha, Joy suggests she date someone rich and Kate seems to like that suggestion. She agrees about how daunting the task is to pay for their college education. If their 5 seasons of J&K and 2 seasons of K+8 hasn't yielded enough for each child to have an ivy league education then something is seriously wrong with how the money has been spent.
I do appreciate her sense of humor towards her temper tantrum when camping, and suggesting they camp in snow next time. I would be utterly embarrassed to have that on TV, but there's not much you can do but laugh it off. We have definitely confirmed that "she's an indoor gal" as Jon would put it.
