Stream new album You're Not a Ghost Anymore: FAITH: orcd.co/jafaith
Making this video was like a dream.
Socrates presented the idea of an orchestra in the castle, and it spun from there. The track didn’t yet have a string arrangement, so he coordinated bringing in the incredibly talented Alexander Livitsanos, who crafted an arrangement for an 80-piece orchestra which we then recorded in Prague.
For the video we brought in a 30-piece orchestra who knew the arrangement and played it perfectly. We wound up recording an acoustic version with orchestra only that in some ways trumps the original. We’ll be releasing that with an alternative video in the coming weeks.
The video was shot on film, so every take mattered, which gave the performances a galvanized energy. Dave East directed and brought a wild spirit to the whole affair. The crew and everyone involved contributed healthy amounts of spirit and vibe.
During the shoot I found out the castle overlooked a town called The Town of the Devil. Named after the fact that it used to be a prostitution zone and the people would spend their money there instead of tithing to the church. Another strange occurrence I’ve encountered around this song. It seems when you address the devil, he pays attention.
