Happy New Year to all of you lovely people!

Summary: One day, Jon meets Ygritte, a servant working at Winterfell. They become friends, but even Ygritte's friendship can not convince Jon of staying at Winterfell. Despite Ygritte trying to change his mind, Jon leaves to join the Night's Watch - not knowing that Ygritte is pregnant with his child. He finds out about it after taking his vows, and fights with himself whether to return to Ygritte and his son, or to stay loyal to his vows. Ultimately, he flees Castle Black.

Meanwhile, Ygritte is being questioned about the identity of her son's father. She, and Jon on his journey, find out that the identity of Jon's mother - and father - has finally been revealed as Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen. King Robert is determined to wipe out the last of the Targaryens. After Jon's arrival at Winterfell, Ygritte is quickly taken prisoner. Despite Jon's efforts, she is executed, and Jon is told that his son was killed, as well.

He is eventually captured and taken back to Castle Black, where he is sentenced to death as a deserter, not knowing that Sam and Maester Aemon have secretly helped him.
