This area has been covered many times so we have concentrated on the lesser known places along this walking tour. With London still under lockdown the west end offers great opportunities for filming whilst staying at a social distance.
To celebrate Florence Nightingale's 200th birthday we start at her statue. Her birthday is also national nurse's day. It is also 200 years since King George III died, England's longest reigning king.
Then we walk though Trafalgar Square and learn about St Martin in the Fields and the Duke of York's scorned mistress. How the houses of Parliament got burnt down and why the lions have cat's feet.
Then it's off to see where Charles Dickens worked as a boy, Scrooge's door knocker and Bob Dylan's Subterranean Homesick Blues.
Then it's off the The Strand to see The Savoy and why a cat might dine with you and where we drive on the right.
