…yet public debates often make it seem like the number is much higher. Too often, conversations around migration are reduced to a “pro” vs. “con” argument.
But migration is far more complex than that.
Migration Matters is an award-winning educational non-profit based in Berlin, Germany. For the past 10 years, we’ve produced almost 200 free educational videos and created spaces for dialogue that challenge perceptions, question simplistic narratives, and bring diverse perspectives into the conversation. Our media features researchers, migrants and refugees, and other voices that are often missing from public debates about migration.
Through our educational media and workshops with students, educators, local communities, and administrators, we help people engage more critically with migration rather than telling them what to think. We believe creating more open, nuanced, and evidence-based conversations about migration can foster more inclusive societies. At a time of growing polarization and increasing pressure on democratic values, creating space for informed and constructive dialogue is more important than ever.
