Most cocoa farmers in Nigeria earn less than $5.50 per day. We provided a £31.4 million loan to Johnvents in 2024 to refurbish its second cocoa factory in Ondo State, increasing production from 13,000 to 30,000 metric tonnes per year.

The investment supports sustainable sourcing, fairer prices for farmers, and direct sourcing from Rainforest Alliance-certified co-operatives. It also strengthens a Black-owned and led business working to build a fully traceable cocoa supply chain by 2027.
