Johnston parents are still raising concerns about the district’s new student transportation system after some children spent hours on buses during the first days of school.

The superintendent now acknowledges the rollout exposed “several operational issues,” including problems with student drop-off information.

He says some students’ drop-off locations defaulted to their home addresses, even when families had requested alternate or special stops. That contributed to incorrect stops and more complicated routes, he said.
