NO MORE PLANKING! Johnny Gargano FINALLY got up and faced CM Punk! After spending months lying around backstage, Gargano finally snapped out of it when he was offered a shot at the WWE Championship—and somehow, the payoff actually delivered.

CM Punk defended the WWE Championship against Gargano in the main event of SmackDown, and while there was never a moment where I thought Punk was actually losing the title, Gargano and Punk told a surprisingly fun story in the ring. After months of wondering where this ridiculous storyline was going, we finally got an actual wrestling match and a conclusion.

But SmackDown had plenty more going on, including Sami Zayn continuing to insert himself into the WWE Championship picture, Cody Rhodes addressing Randy Orton ahead of Sunday Night’s Main Event, Charlotte Flair and Tatum Paxley, Chelsea Green, Nia Jax, the debut of Bakusai, and much more.
