Lt. Colonel (retired) Jonathan Conricus is a senior fellow at the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies with a focus on the Middle East.
In over 20 years of military service with the Israel Defense Forces, he has held a diverse array of positions, including combat commander in Lebanon and the Gaza Strip.
He also served as a military diplomat, foreign relations expert, and international spokesperson before his recent retirement as lieutenant colonel.
The first IDF officer to be seconded to the United Nations, he provided military and strategic analysis for UN peacekeeping forces.
