What better way to celebrate the TowersTimes 20th birthday celebration than with an event to remember at Alton Towers! Guests enjoyed exclusive ride time on two of the Resort’s roller coasters, a special talk from the team detailing the past, present, and future of TowersTimes, along with hearing an insightful talk from the Head of Ride Operations.
To finish the day, we hosted an exclusive Q&A with none other than ride designer John Wardley in the Alton Towers Resort Conference Centre.

Subjectively the worlds best dark ride, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance blurs the lines between fantasy and reality, and puts you in the middle of a climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance.
Riders join the Resistance and depart from Batuu in a transport ship to meet General Leia Organa at a secret rendezvous point. Along the way, the transport is captured by a First Order Star Destroyer. The action then ramps up as riders seek to escape the clutches of Kylo Ren and the First Order – with the help of some heroes of the Resistance.

In 2024, the ride received a new sit down train which enhanced the comfort of the experience so guests can enjoy it for years to come.
On ride filming is strictly prohibited at Drayton Manor Resort. We worked in partnership with the team at the park to film safely using our professional and secure camera equipment.
