The case of John Reginald Halliday Christie is considered one of the most infamous criminal cases dating from 1950s Britain. The case is notorious for two reasons: firstly, the gruesome nature of the murders (with the bodies stowed via various methods around the now infamous address of 10 Rillington Place); and secondly, The evidence that post mortem sex was inflicted on the corpses for several days after the murder took place. And thirdly, the discoveries of six bodies in and around the household led to the likely probability that an innocent man, Timothy Evans, had been hanged three years earlier for two more of Christie's murders - those of Evans own wife and baby daughter.
