How do you install balconies efficiently on a high-rise scheme with tight site logistics?
This video shows how Remote Locking Device (RLD) balcony technology was used to streamline installation at Castleforbes, a major residential development in Dublin’s north docklands, delivered by John Paul Construction for Eagle Street Partners.
With 702 apartments across eight blocks—including a landmark 18-storey tower—this development combines precast façades with a mix of projecting and inset balconies, all installed using offsite-manufactured units and the RLD system. Balconies were delivered to local storage before arriving on-site just-in-time, where they were craned directly into place—minimising crane time and disruption.
What You'll Learn:
How the RLD system enables fast, efficient balcony installation
The logistics of delivering balconies offsite and installing just-in-time
How projecting and inset balconies are handled on precast façades
The role of collaboration between contractor, manufacturer, and installer
Why RLD helps overcome access constraints on complex urban sites
By combining offsite manufacturing, clever storage logistics, and remote locking installation, this project demonstrates how even complex high-rise sites can be delivered with speed, safety and precision—a clear example of how the journey is streamlined by Sapphire.
