Here are 7 time-lapse sequences I took while hiking the John Muir Trail (JMT) with my wife and brother. This is the first time I have ever taken my DSLR with me hiking. I'm pretty happy that I did. I brought 8 batteries and 128GB of Memory. (Around the halfway point I was able to recharge my batteries and transfer the files to a computer giving me a total 256 GB worth of memory for the trip.)

All sequences were taken with my Canon T3i. I used the intervelometer script from the Magic Lantern firmware to drive the camera. Most star time-lapses were 30 second exposures every 45 seconds. All time-lapses are played back at 24 frames per second.

Here's the sequences:
1. Stars over Half Dome
2. Climbing Half Dome
3. Stars over Donahue Pass
4. HDR Clouds over Lake Marjorie near Pinchot Pass
5. Stars over Upper Palisade Lake near Mather Pass
6. Stars over Forester Pass
7. Star trails over the backside of Mt. Whitney

#4 and #5 should have been switched. Mather Pass came before Pinchot Pass.

Thanks to the TimeLapseBlog on youtube for the tutorial on how to do star trails. (youtube.com/watch?v=GwgDtQXks1c) I used that for the last sequence of the backside of Mt. Whitney.
