John Morgan Kimock is a Producer, Drummer, Composer, Label Owner from San Francisco California residing in Brooklyn NY.
He grew up around his father's music and bands and formed his own out of High School in 2006. During High School, he met Bernie Worrell (Talking Heads, Parliament) and began working with him in Post Junction later introducing him to his father and performing together in bands with George Porter Jr. (The Meters). "I would consider Bernie one of my earliest mentors outside of my actual family. He provided me a perspective on music that cannot be quantified. The alien slop." From 2006- 2010, he toured with his own bands New Madrid Faults, XVSK as well as in a family band with Steve Kimock. In 2010, he performed alongside his father, Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon, and members of Volcano Choir at the New York Guitar Festival scoring silent films from Buster Keaton, and Charlie Chaplin. This began a love for film music, and shortly there-after XVSK acquired the rights to "Eternal Sunshine of Spotless Mind" to rescore and perform in movie theaters. John went on to compose music for Dance in Brooklyn, play live and land freelance scoring jobs, most notably scoring London based hip hop artist Tinie Tempah's film of his sold out O2 arena performance.
Since then, John has performed on records and/or toured live with artists Mike Gordon, Steve Kimock, Oteil Burbridge, Robert Walter's 20th Congress, Leif Vollebekk, Bernie Worrell, Marco Benevento, Ryan Montbleau, Sailcloth Sounds, Grimace Federation, Kat Wright, Mihali, King Zeek, Our Griffins, William H. Travis, Madaila, Neal Casal, and others. He continues to produce music as well, most recently a single from Kimock called "While We Wait."
