John Kidson, the former Isle of Man Formula 3 TT champion died on September 18th, at the age of 90.
The funeral cortege was followed by motorcyclists who had come to pay their respects to the legendary motorcyclist.
The procession started in Stroud and travelled across Minchinhampton Common and down the Nailsworth W before making John's final journey to Westerleigh Crematorium.
Born in 1934, John began his TT career in 1961 finishing 15th in the Lightweight. He started in 27 races with the highlight of first place in the 1977 Formula 3 race, his final TT year. He returned in the Classic Manx Grand Prix races following the 1984 Historic TT and enjoyed two second places in 1986 and 87 and a fourth place in 1989.
A former President of the TT Riders Association, John rode the Mountain Circuit (IOM) for 22 years and was Life President of the British Motorcycle Trust.
John was a beloved husband of Mavis, father of Sarah, Lucy and the late Jolyon, grandfather and great grandfather.
