There is very little footage of John Gilpin, on or off stage.
This is what I have found:
[1] John Gilpin and Violette Verdy in 'The Nutcracker' Festival Ballet [No Audio]
[2] John Gilpin in 'Bourre Fantasque' with London Festival Ballet
[3] John Gilpin with Festival Ballet In Hungary (1962)
[4] John Gilpin with London Festival Ballet outside Jerusalem on tour in Israel [No Audio]
For the two clips with not audio, you’ll have to remember the music and play it through in your mind to the footage!
In the last clip, Hazel Moore has kindly identified the dancers and participants thus:
“First to appear in Israel are Flemming Flindt and Marilyn Burr, then Marilyn Burr shopping, the bearded gentleman is Geoffrey Corbett their Conductor, bathing belle is Marilyn Burr, short-haired lady in white tutu is either Dianne Richards or Diane Westermann, Trio is I think Dianne Richards, Michael Hogan and Marilyn Burr and last solo Marilyn again (heavily featured!!)”
Enjoy!

![Rudolph Nureyev, Karen Kain and Second Cast Rehearse Sleeping Beauty [National Ballet of Canada]
This is footage of Rudolph Nureyev and Karen Kain and of a second cast rehearsing Nureyev’s production of ‘The Sleeping Beauty for the National Ballet of Canada.
The set designer for this production was to be Nicholas Georgiadis, who Nureyev had used on many enterprises.
What’s interesting for me in this video was hearing Nureyev and Kain discussing technical problems - using highly technical language, like when the ballerina says “if there’s too much yank, I can’t control my force”!
