WorkshopAddict | John Deere 3R & 4R Rear PTO Operation While Off Operator's Seat #shorts #deere #johndeere @WorkshopAddict | Uploaded March 2024 | Updated October 2024, 1 hour ago.
After fussing with this for two days, I was almost resigned to implementing the "heavy sand bag in operator's seat" solution.
The difference (perhaps only for tractors manufactured in 2020 and later) is that you must push and hold the PTO switch in the engaged position for at least 2 seconds. “Hold” then appears on the instrument display. You then get up out of the operator's seat and “Stationary PTO Active” appears on the instrument display. You can then operate the rear PTO remotely.
I do not know if these instructions apply equally to other 2020 Deere models, such as 1R and 2R series tractors. I leave it to the owners of those models to let us know.
