Description
In this video I'm playing my own fingerstyle arrangement of the traditional British Isles folk song “John Anderson My Jo”. The lyrics derive from a Robert Burns poem. The tune, which is not that familiar in the US, is a hauntingly beautiful minor-key traditional air, probably dating back to the 16th century. The first time through, I play it “straight”. The second time through, I put in some articulations and melody syncopation to add variety to the piece.
